PlayStation brings in People Can Fly for upcoming project

Polish developer People Can Fly is working on an upcoming project from PlayStation.

That’s according to a release to investors from the studio, in which it wrote that it had entered into a work-for-hire agreement for what is dubbed Project Delta. There’s no word as to what this game is going to be, but it is a PlayStation IP. In terms of franchises that would make sense, SOCOM, Killzone and Siphon Filter spring to mind.

People Can Fly recently also announced that it was working on Gears of War: E-Day with Microsoft and The Coalition. The studio cut over 150 jobs during 2024 having canned its third-party publishing business the year before.

This certainly marks a shift from the People Can Fly of the late 2010s, which was moving into its own IP and publishing other studios; in some ways the studio has gone back to the safer waters of work-for-hire development – which of course there is nothing wrong with.
